Hawthorne Stable Notes for Saturday, November 7,
2009
A beautiful day here at Hawthorne! Here’s what is scary, today may be
the best weather day of the meet and it is actually on a big day! I can’t
believe it! Today is Breeders’ Cup
Saturday as the boys (and Goldikova & Zenyatta) take to the track for the eight Breeders’ Cup
Races. You can check out my picks on the
website, and you will see that I am expecting a foreign domination of today’s
races. I would not be surprised at all if at least six horses that are based
overseas win BC races today.
At Hawthorne,
we have sunny skies, a fast main track and a turf course listed as good for the
ten race card.
Our first post is at 12:30 PM today and our races will be run in between
those from Santa Anita all day long. We have full fields at Hawthorne today and very competitive racing. The track continues to play quite evenly and I
expect much of the same for this card.

Best Bets
Race 4 - #1 – Yep – A runner that was fortunate enough to
get a turf start already this meet, he was allowed to settled and made a fine
steady advance for the win in his last. He gets a ton of pace to chase once again and
I expect a similar performance today.
Race 9 - #6
– Rio Rita – May be a bit of an
upsetter as she gets Lasix
for the first time today. She is lightly
raced, but came off the layoff in her last and was sent off at 7-2 in that
start. She didn’t fire, but bled in the race and gets Lasix
today. Expect a wakeup call in here.
