Emily's Analysis

Hawthorne Race 1

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#1 ROAN BY DESIGN has some of the stronger races and figures, however she gives up recency missing last week due to illness. She could still win but has that knock and must work a trip from the inside with other pace in this field and much of that early pace on the outside horses. That includes shipper #9 DECISION TIME coming in off two straight HoP wins, though overall does not hold much if any edge in this field.

#4 LION VIRGIN just needs the trip which is not always a guarantee under the driver though is often price compensated. She fits all around at this level and should have the pace and field to pick up the first win this year.

Hawthorne Race 2

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#2 MARSHALL MALONE was BTL last week in the fourth place result a subtle trip showing interest throughout. He comes back today and in the positive place in the "every other" form cycle pattern.

Hawthorne Race 3

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#1 ROLLIN COAL returns from an EX - Excuse on 11/20 never able to establish position and parked extra wide throughout. There should be price compensation off that recent line and finishing position where her form this season stacks up to compete with a top effort.

#5 IDEAL'S NICOLE finds some subtle class relief along with others returning from the 11/20 common race and projects to improve off the subtle trip.

Hawthorne Race 4

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#4 LA LOLITA is such a gamble as she breaks and that has been a bad habit this season. That includes the effort last week when she broke early and from there made a big move and overall interest that had she stayed flat early could have been a contender.

Hawthorne Race 5

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

Nothing to creative here with #7 STYLISH GRACE and #9 FOX VALLEY CORSO both coming off different types of subtle trips from the 11/20 common race in the rain and no match for the much the best, open length 1-5 chalk winner, Special Mission.

Hawthorne Race 6

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

This is a solid group and all seven come into this race in form and capable. #5 PLAY ME ROCK could find the right trip as the pace should be honest and he could stalk looking for first run and to find cover with #7 ILIKEMEBETTOR A on the outside.

Hawthorne Race 7

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#2 DELIGHTFUL DONNA finds a post change and should find a different trip today as a result. Last week she was forced to take back and make inside out move from off the pace and she has been able to race forwardly placed in the past. She finished just in front of #9 THATS CACHE one that fits logically once again. T. Seekman sent to the lead (11/19 R4) and just tried to be the "best horse" on the drop on the lead and was run down with Fox Valley Bustier making a late move from off the pace to win.

Hawthorne Race 8

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

The qualifier last week should assist #1 FREE ON THE BEACH coming back to the races and first official start since September. He has a pair of wins on the year and has been consistent with form, times and figures that make him a major player returning to those efforts from the summer here.

Hawthorne Race 9

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

Class and form makes #3 BROOKVIEW DARIUS a major player in here for the connections. This will be the first local start though shifts that experience for class as they have been racing at a higher condition and significant class relief from the event last Friday at HoP.

Hawthorne Race 10

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#1 UNCUT GEM should be sitting on a peak effort in this second start of the cycle and experience here last week. He gave an honest account on 11/20 though had a subtle trip and less than ideal drive, all around intent could suggest they were "giving" the race. #7 BOMBAY PARKWAY also returns from that common race in the rain and competitive once again as this mare has held her form this season. T. Warren takes over today as B. Bates sticks with #6 JD'S QUEEN LORI, a mare also in form though finds much, much tougher company here - the concern for others coming out of those common races.

Hawthorne Race 11

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#1 GET E UP will find a change in class and that move could assist to regain some confidence. His form shifting to this level moves him up naturally for this race and in this group. As far as trip he should save ground and have pace to close into given the complexion of this field.
