Emily's Analysis

Del Mar Race 3

Post Time 5:02 PM CST
Analysis by Emily Gullikson

Trainer J. Mullins has been sending out live as of late (should be live in R2 - #5 DANDY MNAN SHINES) and upgrades #1 LETTHELIQUORTALK returning from the layoff. He will also return to the sprint distance and from the rail has enough early speed to be effective in a front end roll with today's ground.

Trainer P. Gallagher also has send out live runners all meet and with a little more racing luck would have a higher win percentage. Again with a live runner in first time starter #7 SCHILFLIED on debut. He trains like a runner, suited to today's conditions and should give a good account here.

Del Mar Race 5

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

A competitive claiming race where #6 FUNKENSTEIN is deserving of a look returning to DMR and with ship-and-win intent for the connections.

Those factors could present a shorter number in here and value should hold on two runners capable of improvement in their second start of the meet: #1 TERRACOTTA SOLDIER looked to be given the return race and conditioning with the sprint last month. On the day he raced in hand/NO_PUSH made a strong CLOSE and continued to GALLOP+ after the wire; #3 IMPOSSIBLE TASK had just that racing WIDE X_BIAS opening week and appears intent wheeling back for this spot and should work  out a better trip today.

Del Mar Race 6

#3 NEWS AT TEN looked pointed to DMR making a first local appearance and first off the layoff on 5/29. He looked to need the race and should more than anything benefit from a start though the trip also can be upgraded making a RUSH X_FLOW and NO_PUSH after losing ground in the lane. They were entered under similar conditions during the first part of the meet and while unable to make the 7/20 race they worked the very next day and training forwardly since.

Del Mar Race 9

Going back to opening week many runners were compromised racing X_BIAS and #4 BIG BUZZ was in that camp. He showed run making a WIDE move and with a potentially contentious pace should find the right pace scenario to step up here.
