Emily's Analysis

Santa Anita Race 1

#2 SENSATIONAL DREAM has been pointed to debut on the turf and capable for the connections. The barn has had success with runners showing early speed something that could be on display with the recent works, rail draw and getting in light with the apprentice weight break.

Exiting the 12/13 common race at PLN #3 EYELIGHT is upgraded over #2 BROADWAY TIGER especially as that one is assigned the role of the ML favorite.

Splitting the Williams owned runners, #7 TAMANTARI has the edge over #5 LADY'S SERMON and if the ML is to hold, the better play between the two.

# HONORABLE GAL also brings upside and could sneak away on the board. The 5.5f distance is one they are familiar with and placed at throughout their career.

#7 AUTHENTIC GRACE made a positive PRERACE+ appearance and enough visually to IMPROVE in running off the less than ideal trip in part to the SLOG start and ground loss/WIDE before NO_PUSH late.

#8 POKER ALICE finds a lateral change in class showing up on this circuit and looks to compete with today's group and perhaps the biggest threat to the G. Papaprodromou pair.

In terms of that duo: #1 WHY BEHAVE used a similar "two sprints to a route" pattern picking up the win on 9/29 and current form and figures have been progressive since, though a tougher lighter than the top efforts from #3 SOUL OF A WARRIOR one that does require their best to win as they return off the layoff.

#2 ROSE DAWSON fits as the favorite in this race, no knocks in that role, though #4 IVORY MOON could be dangerous with their early speed and if the others try to rate and they clear is a wire-to-wire threat.

If trying to get creative outside #2 AFFAIR and #6 BLUE FASHION and not fully trusting #4 I'M STILL IN IT one that has been without excuse in the minor finishes... #3 NELLIE THURSDAY finds a lateral change in class, a positive every other pattern, a trip on 12/19 that did not allow their best and number wise on their best day fits with those other runners in this race.

Santa Anita Race 7

#7 BINGING presents upside and value in this spot - a race where many are trying something different. BINGING has shown progression and improvement with the move to the turf, something that did not fit with their race timing over the summer. The connections had intent to run on the grass for their second start - timing is also noted the distance forced to run at the 5f to stay at one turn and based on the visuals from those turf sprints and trips (X_FLOW on 11/9 and WIDE MOVE STRETCH on 12/1) with the preferred time between starts should be in their best spot to compete here.
