Emily's Analysis

Santa Anita Race 1

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#2 ARABIAN FLIRT fits as well as any in this field with numbers on par and a positive shift to the TURF and class DROP based on their visuals and should be overlooked on the connections.

Number wise #8 ANNAN is lighter though with those figures recorded during the brief two start 2yo season some upside can be projected returning as 4yo. Their debut was sneaky good (B-) showing interest though also GREEN and one that could benefit from the EQUIP change as the blinkers will be added here.

#4 ICY MISCHIEF and #5 HARNEY LANE hold the class edge of the group showing up on this circuit from PLN. With that said, the public could gravitate toward #8 CANDYINTHEMORNING with the connections one that lacks an edge in this field and is racing above condition.

Santa Anita Race 3

Case can be made for #2 COOLWIND one that should be sitting on a peak effort third start of the cycle and key change with the class DROP. In addition, the race shape could set up for their runstyle from off the pace and save ground given the post position with first run.

Santa Anita Race 4

#4 DYNODAVE has been the most consistent in this group and progressive with the move to the turf and added ground. Number wise they are right there on par and with today's rivals including #7 LAZLO one that was overmatched in graded stakes company and at the higher MSW level at KYD and allowance at WO back to a similar par and purse from the IND race.

Santa Anita Race 5

#1 GREATFUL ATTITUDE ran under similar conditions on 12/8 though a big change in timing on the quick turnaround and has been freshened here. Their form fits at this level and runstyle for today's race shape and with the rider change at the rail.

Santa Anita Race 8

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#10 FIRENZE FLAVOR had a tough task debuting at a mile giving up experience as just one of two FTS on 11/3. With that hurdle, they turned in a BTL/B- effort following a SLOG raced COVER and granted had a Fast early pace to CLOSE into and continued to GALLOP+ out past the wire.

#3 LILA can also be upgraded under similar conditions debuting at two turns on 11/30 at DMR and added hurdle with the WIDE trip - almost impossible to overcome while the winner was able to get LONE and course profile favoring inside runners - common rival #5 FOOTNOTE racing with COVER by comparison; and despite the outside post #2 KITTY MARREN found a free trip chasing that eventual open length pacesetting winner, Amorita.
