#7 AMERICAN WOMEN has been pointed and competitive with the extended sprint distance. She brings in upside for the sophomore debut and could present speed figure improvement at the same time. Coming into this race lighter on numbers she must improve to compete for the top spot, though the lighter numbers today (with improvement possible) will keep value required to play. She showed progression and class last year with the connections running in stakes company projecting to IMPROVE in the Debutante at ELP the race closing out 2024 and the race she returns off here. Trainer B. Walsh had a strong record with layoff returning runners in 2024 with positive ROI, 44% win and 56% ITM.

#2 COLLOQUIAL projects to be a heavy favorite right back. They showed a strong run on debut and poured it on breaking their maiden coming back off the layoff in February at AQU, a STRONG race that has been productive going forward. They are deserving of the test, though tested all the same while taking on winners and runners with stakes experience.
#1 GUNMETAL presented talent breaking their maiden on debut and slight flow upgrade coming up short as the favorite in the Swale for their second start. They could be overlooked off that race (even with the connections) and in this competitive group to present value and drift from the assigned ML.

ASHLAND STAKES (G1):
#1 LOOK FORWARD brings in grades stakes form from the place finish (B-) in the Starlet (G2) and upside returning from a legitimate EX - EXCUSE in the Honeybee (G3) last month. She made a positive PRERACE+ appearance though lost their race at the GATE showing run (MOVE) against the course profile. The connections keep the faith and up the training going right back to work and right back in the entries for this stakes spot.
