Del Mar Race 3

#2 SWEET GAL OF MINE requires at least the ML with their runstyle, N2 lifetime and for this shorter 5f distance. The number could be right even with the place finish sitting on top of the past performances give the overall lifetime record and for the connections. SWEET GAL OF MINE recorded a B OptixGRADE with the place finish over this course/distance last August with the TROUBLE trip SAVED ground and should be the case here with the rail draw. #3 MISS MANDALAY also kept in the mix while they have come up short on the win end (and often recording a B) at this N1X level they have remained consistent overall and with a level of recency, second off the layoff making a WIDE MOVE into a Fast early/late race shape on 6/15.

#13 DURAN is a LONGSHOT in more than one way in this race - primarily distance cutting back to a sprint, after spending the majority of their career around two turns and not just any sprint, the shorter 5.5f distance. As far as form cycle, there is upside and more form than what appears on paper going back to the 7/4 X_WIDE X_FLOW trip projecting to IMPROVE on that day and number wise took a step forward on 7/17 (as well as removing the front wraps) though not quite on the level of that open $16k group as they wheel back here to run for $10k. In terms of speed figures and class they fit as well as any in this race with it all coming down to trip for the distance while coming with that top effort as well given there are some solid well-intended (#11 DIRTY WORDS for example) runners in this field

The race shape (Snowflake/90 SpeedRate) should hold a say in the outcome perhaps make things tougher on trip for #1 DEA MATRONA otherwise a logical type. The extreme dynamic sets out a scenario to flatter horses from off the pace: #9 LITTLE HIDDEN PORT drops in class overall and from their series of turf races last year. Placement and distance (SHORTER) was not their ideal while credited with consistent speed figure, and number stacking up well for today's par. Some intent should be in play not only with the class drop, shifting back to the grass in this second start from the layoff. #6 KETONIA has shown some distance limitations at the mile at the same time finding class relief should be able to hold their own even for this less than ideal distance. H. Berrios has been aboard KETONIA as of late and shifts back to #3 MISS MEAGHER a live sign for this race as they have has success together this year including a win and never off the board in those four starts.
