Emily's Analysis

Keeneland Race 1

Post Time 12:00 PM CST
Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#4 RAYMOND appears the value in this race and could be overlooked off the connections. His form, figures and RunStyle fit today's conditions. He also holds form over this main track keying off a place finish at the higher $50k conditional claiming class back in April.

Keeneland Race 3

Post Time 1:04 PM CST
Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#6 STORY HOUR is just now eligible for this condition claimed for $50k in her most recent start and looks like a smart move by the new connections to run here protected.

Diodoro will send out a pair and has been successful this meet with two in a race. #7 CONDIMENT GIRL projects to be the speed of the speed, though stamina still the main concern with her and today's 6.5f distance. #1 MISCHIEVOUS GAL has not shown to be as "fast" however she is a progressive three-year-old and can still project upside.

#8 STYLE has a longshot look and at the least should be able to compete for a share. She returns with a freshening and from the Hawthorne meet where she struggled to find the right race shape for her closer RunStyle. Today's dynamic should allow for her some pace to target and the longer sprint distance is also in her favor.

Keeneland Race 4

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

This claiming event holds a lot of Hawthorne representation and contenders. #5 BEEALEA has been in top form this season and has a strong kick that should be effective in today's race shape (Fire, 45 SpeedRate) with more than half of the field sharing the EP RunStyle. #2 SOUL COAXING struggled with the WIDE trips and has some sneaky form coming into this race for Robertson, a barn that has already had success this meet. The front wraps that were added on 8/6 could be removed today and would look for that potential change.

Keeneland Race 5

Post Time 2:08 PM CST
Analysis by Emily Gullikson

This race looks contentious and many lightly raced types that have shown some run. #9 SAVE THE MISCHIEF being one of those and one that could be overlooked off the debut running line and finishing position three weeks ago. Visually the overall race was BTL and highlighted by a strong late CLOSE/kick that is tough to see off the line alone.

Keeneland Race 6

Post Time 2:40 PM CST
Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#4 SHOOTERS SHOOT makes sense as the projected favorite finding subtle class relief as he makes his second start of the cycle.

Longshot #7 SPEIGHT AND MALICE is on a similar form cycle pattern and while his overall class is a bit lighter, there is plenty of price compensation. He will also run back for the $50k tag, a condition and par similar to the June 30th race at Ellis, the 91 OptixFIG a fit with today's group. #2 MAILMAN MONEY returns to the main track, distance and class where he was competitive on June 30th.

#9 CALL ME MIDNIGHT is still looking to find where he fits and can compete. That search has been a longtime coming since the set up (FLOW) Lecomte (G3) stakes win in January 2022, his most recent win.

Keeneland Race 7

Both #1 MACKILLOP and #4 LINCOLN HIGHWAY merit respect returning from the 9/17 common race and back under similar allowance conditions here.

The race shape is tough to assess as things could change with the AE runners and scratches. #6 SIR LONDON is unproven on the turf, though appears versatile and his early speed could create a scenario for a front end pace advantage. The surface switch is also unproven for #8 TEN DAYS LATER (BTL returning from the layoff on 9/24) and trip wise he is on the opposite end as a deep closer.

Keeneland Race 8

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#9 BRIGHT SPARK is still looking for that Keeneland win, though historically comes into this meet with positive intent and has run well with the place finish on both occasions. Similar intent appears in play for this third start of the cycle, subtle trip on 9/23 with a move forward projected. #11 WINNEMAC AVENUE has improved with each start since making his debut. He will return fresh for this race and also in for a tag for the first time. The higher $80k price is no giveaway and the change overall suggests intent placing where they can compete and a gamble on retaining the horse.

Keeneland Race 9

Post Time 4:16 PM CST
Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#2 MODERN SOUND turned in a "winning" BTL effort in her debut back here at Hawthorne in August. She did not fare as well at KY Downs with some excuses with the distance, draw and race outcome with the top two running 1-2 around the track. Some value is required as she must step up and the 9/10 KYD event has not been productive and still looking to validate that race form.
