Emily's Analysis
Churchill Downs Race 8
Post Time 3:22 PM CST
#4 WINGS LIKE EAGLES ran a huge race, call it BTL in that 4th place result coming off the layoff three weeks ago. The connection wheel right back and while she did run from well off the pace that day, that is not her style to be expected here as she had TROUBLE_S keeping her off the pace early on.

The class drop alone moved up #8 STUD MUFFIN and should have little excuses with that edge.
The class DROP also comes into play for #1 EAT FOOD EVERYDAY and horse that on numbers sits "lighter" though has shown some mild progression especially from a visual standpoint and still has room to IMPROVE.
#2 DIXIE FLATTER seasonal debut resulted in an EX - EXCUSE and showed run in that compromised trip. The change in class is lateral move for #3 MANETKA as they races under similar $7.5k maiden conditions earlier this year and even B- efforts.

While #5 BODE'S TIPSY has consistently recorded the higher figures in the field, he will give up recency returning from the layoff and while capable he has also come up short off similar longer layoffs.
The edge on recency sides with #6 ZIPPY GIZMO as he makes his second start off the layoff and upgraded from the WIDE trip and solid GALLOP+ to move forward. He has an overall move forward from his races to date, those races in the juvenile season. Further intent could follow here with K. Kimura returning and had been up for the two wins last year.

#8 STORMIN DAVE broke his maiden (B+) in a third off pattern and shows a similar pattern coming into this event. The two starts this season have provided a solid foundation with progression race-to-race along with "trips" to suggest another move forward is possible. The SHORTER change in distance here is another positive and flow upgrade from the 6/7 event.
