Emily's Analysis
Woodbine Race 1
Post Time 3:00 PM CST
#3 CHIPOTLE PEPPER looks to hold a pace advantage up front with their early speed and a gate-to-wire threat. #5 JUST FOLLOW ME is the value key to this race and should be sitting on a peak effort. Claimed back for 7.5k to run eligible for this race they ran near "protected" on 6/6 for $25k with subtle TROUBLE- at a higher race par and should move up naturally while potentially overlooked off the recent outcome.
Woodbine Race 4
Post Time 4:47 PM CST
#2 BREEZERO will give up recency first off the layoff at the same time appears well-intended for this spot and back at WO over this turf sprint course. They hold a solid record from last season including a win under similar par and purse back in November. The A. Cheung barn has sent out live runners this season including one runner (two wins) with R. Maragh aboard.
Woodbine Race 8
Post Time 6:57 PM CST
Overall a competitive race and evenly matched group: #3 BOLD TIME appears at their ideal trip with pace to chase and should have that scenario given the dynamic of today's field. The connections have shown confidence going back to last season running in the Mazarine (G3) following the second start MSW win (debut near excuse in against open company) and reset this year at KEE. They held upside from the turf allowance in April with the TROUBLE_S less than ideal TACTIC- and MOVE showing up at WO taking on older company with a smart win on 5/30 to set up for this stakes return.
Woodbine Race 9
Post Time 7:29 PM CST
#2 RUNAWAY AGAIN showed a lot of talent breaking their maiden B+ on debut. Off that start, perhaps a late start, the connections taking a swing for the second start in the Kings Plate with a rough trip rebounded next out winning the second leg, the Prince of Wales at FE. The tactical change and what started to develop as an "every other" pattern falling short in the Ontario Derby (G3) rebounding against older pickng upt the win to close out the WO meet in November. They earned a follow with a strong speed figure at TP projected to STRETCH out and potented to a couple of ROUTE races at OP (two scratches) before showing up off the layoff in the Eclipse (G2) last month. The B OptixGRADE effort gives them a look right back with Class to match in graded stakes company. That pairs with speed figures on par recording new top progressive speed figure making an inside CLOSE in a SPACED out extreme race shape in that show outcome.
Woodbine Race 11
Post Time 8:30 PM CST
LONGSHOT: Arguably have not seen the best from #12 SHOOT given the "trips" in the first two starts last last season. That includes the 12/13 second start, adding blinkers and from the rail had a TROUBLE_S making a RUSH into a Fast early pace SHUFFLE and GALLOP+ after the wire suggesting they can IMPROVE.
#5 SUPERFLY CHICK is a logical contender. They are the one runner with experience in the field making their first start in at the $40MOC category and should move up naturally with their best opportunity to pick up the win today. Each start has been solid from the BTL place on debut, stakes show finish with the second start and holding their speed figures since while coming off the layoff on 5/17 finishing in a BLANKET at the wire.
