Emily's Analysis
Keeneland Race 1
Post Time 12:00 PM CST
#1 SHAN brings upside into this race and should hold value with the recent running line and finishing position. Those recent starts not only at the allowance condition, showed run making a CLOSE over the turf (also needing to STRETCH from that 5.5f distance) and broke SLOG TROUBLE_S with a NO_PUSH, providing a near excuse on 9/14 at CD. Their form and figures fit at the $50k CLM level keying off the efforts (B/B-) at CD in May/June.
Keeneland Race 2
Post Time 12:32 PM CST
#1 NO MOR STONES fits at this level and with early speed along the inside. The find a shift in Plot position from the three prior starts sitting in Q3 to Q1 today. The class drop is notable for #4 THE CHALK and should move up naturally with that change. The class change should also move up #11 TIZ MY HERO recording a B OptixGRADE under similar conditions (albeit slightly lower par) back on 5/10.
#9 OPEN COURT is cross entered in a similar $20k MCL even (though 8.5f distance) on 10/29 at CD and already scratched from a 10/6 MSW event on 10/6 at HS Indy. They bring upside from the TROUBLE+ on debut and the connections have been carefully picking out a spot.
Keeneland Race 4
Post Time 1:36 PM CST
Could easily see a FTS jump up in this spot as those with experience still must step up. It would not be a big projection in the case of #7 COMPLEXED in this case with a near excuse on debut part of a chain reaction of contact at the break (TROUBLE_S) a passive ride making a MOVE through TRAFFIC to suggest IMPROVE. Their stablemate #6 BANKER'S JET finds a rise from the 9/27 start comparing par though did have an EX - EXCUSE on the day with the TROUBLE_S and further in running TROUBLE.
Santa Anita Race 6
Post Time 5:33 PM CST
#5 TWILIGHT TIME showed run on debut back in January while GREEN and looking every bit of a ROUTER while needing DROP some class relief - those belated changes in play for today's event. Technically they found the move to MCL company on 9/20 though a higher par in that LRC event, a higher par that day than even today's race. Their effort and figures stepped up on overall and in terms of trip after the SLOG TROUBLE_S put in a solid CLOSE.
Woodbine Race 1
Post Time 3:30 PM CST
#5 ROYAL PRESENCE brings in a class edge from the NYRA races to this circuit and higher race par. The change even going back to the debut last summer showing rush projected to STRETCH and stepped up with the two grass two turn races following.
They will meet a majority of this field returning from the 9/21 common race. The race shape notable with the Very Fast early dynamic and place finisher #2 HELLO STRANGER making the FLOW CLOSE at longer odds, longer than projected today and similar FLOW aided run for #6 KING ROSSO.
That notable Very Fast early pace upgraded #1 SWIFTLET with the TROUBLE_S RUSH To contest NO_COVER the lead and playing a role in tiring late. They bring the conditioning and fitness from the races this season to hold form here. #3 TORONTO CITY still some class concerns (similar for #4 LOVER BOY MO) at the MSW level though from the 9/21 common race suffered the X_WIDE trip.
Woodbine Race 5
#2 SUPER ICONIC perhaps holds value here (required) coming off the recent 6th place outcome and speed figure. That was impacted with the TROUBLE TRAFFIC trip and going back to the other N2 starts this season paired up B- OptixGRADES - grades on par with the others in this group. Their ability to show early speed could be the further advantage sitting ABOVE on Plot in addition to that rating on Class/Speed.
Woodbine Race 7
#3 RIDE FOR THE PURSE turned in a competitive B- OptixGRADE under similar extended sprint, one-turn N2 conditions on 9/1 and upgraded that day with the change in class. They might have needed the race unable to find a spot taking the route on 10/10 (39-days between starts) by default. Their placement suggesting perhaps a lack of intent though physically presented PRERACE+ and less than ideal in running with the TROUBLE_S SHUFFLE while WIDE and should be fit wheeling back here (and with intent) two weeks later.
