Del Mar Race 10

Analysis by Emily Gullikson

#3 LUCKY SNIPER off the debut visuals projected to move up with added ground/STRETCH showing run after the wire (GALLOP+) and following the TROUBLE_S. They found the added ground coming back in May, 104-days later, a less than ideal trip from rider TACTIC- to racing in early TRAFFIC and making a WIDE MOVE. The class DROP was also projected and can be upgraded with that move returning here in MCL company and further change racing first time as a gelding.

Cross entered in the $200k Audubon Oaks on 8/9 ELP  #2 PERCY'S BAR (8-1 value) following a compromised trip in the KY Oaks (G1) perhaps they came back too quick with a subtle trip in the Monomoy Girl stakes still recording a B- despite the 5th place outcome. Added to the "trip" in those races was form cycle and timing, in OptixNOTES projected added recovery, which they find here 56-days freshening looking to return to a top. They will need that type of effort to win while cutting back though has run well at SAR at this distance, a B- MOVE behind first run open length winner, Tommy Jo in the Spinaway (G1) last summer.

LONGSHOT: #3 ANTIQUARIAN coming off a BTL/B- effort in the Suburban (G2) and following the B- X_FLOW effort in the Met Mile (G1) while T. Pletcher was COLD during the June mini-meet can be given a look in this spot. The rider change with M. Franco taking over could also be seen as a positive, riding lights out as of late.
